RODEO!
'RODEO!' is structured like a rodeo itself – multiple scenes showcasing skill, endurance, and showmanship. 'RODEO!' is a series of theatrical events, cowboy and -girl themed double entendres and lipsyncs to cowperson-themed songs. By excavating the line dance form and Western imagery from within, 'RODEO!' offers personal reflections on belonging and culture from Tan's childhood in Texas.
'Line Dance' was commissioned by Chisenhale Dance Space for the Making Sh*t Happen gala in 2024.
'RODEO!' was commissioned by London Performance Studios for the 2026 Spring Salon.
