REVOLVER
What is new work in the era of social media 'templates,' endless cloud storage and meme-ory? REVOLVER presents the body as an avatar - interrogating the boundaries between past/present, archive/repertoire and citation/creation.
REVOLVER is a 20 minute solo, stitched together from a decade's worth of video archives and perfomed with motion-capture projections. As an ensemble with the self, REVOLVER tracks the evolution of Tan's creative process and collaborator relationships.
Debuted in 2024 for Resoluton Festival, with support from Chisenhale Dance Space and Harvard Graduate School of Design.
